Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home

The businesses will be known as the Herman Funeral Homes, LLC. Each facility will be renamed: Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont and Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg.One funeral home was founded in 1882 by Michael George Veh in Woodville, which moved to Gibsonburg 10 years later. It became Veh & Son Funeral Home. The funeral home stayed in the Veh family until Charles “Charlie” Nopper, purchased the business 1987, changing the name to Nopper-Veh Funeral Home and Monuments. Mark Herman joined the staff in 1990.The Fremont funeral home was built in 1957 by owners Robert Karlovetz and Alfred Dorfmyer. The one partmern pruchases and renamed the business Karlovetz Mortuary. In 1994, it became the Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary. Charlie Nopper owned and operated both facilities for nine years. In 2003 he sold the business to Mark Herman and Jason Kinn.
